OPG Past Grievance Coordinator
Job Description Summary:
The past grievance coordinator is to provide support to the AZA and OPG Negotiating Team at the Past Grievance Meetings. This individual will be working with AZA on community research, historical research, Elders interview process, financial accounting, and other issues associated with the past grievance project.
Past Grievance Process Summary:
OPG and AZA are presently engaged in a "Past Grievance Process". The goal of the past grievance process is to indemnify OPG and OEFC (Ontario Hydro) for impacts caused by several Hydro Projects and compensate AZA for impacts and losses caused by several Hydro Projects and compensate AZA for impacts and losses caused to their Aboriginal & Treaty Rights.
We have completed the elders' interview process. The elders' testimonies are an important part of the process. They will be used to help support our claims that our people and traditional lands were affected from the Ogoki Diversion and the dams built on the Nipigon River.
